Why I am in love with photographing families at home.
One of my recent endeavors is breaking into In-home photography sessions. There are a couple a reasons why I love them.
They are really perfect for newborn sessions because mom and dad don’t have the daunting task of leaving the house. Trust me it can be a whole ordeal.
Home is the most comfortable environment there is. This is where you can be 100% relaxed and your self. I find that kids also have a lot of fun showing off their home too!
I think that images at home are a little under-rated. When having professional photographs taken in your home you are documenting a huge piece of your family story in a beautiful artist way.
So what is In-home Photography all about?
An in-home session can be anything you want it to. We can do a family session, newborn and maternity. I always plan the session around the best light. That means a specific time of day as I try to use the natural light that is coming into your home from the windows of the house. When I arrive, after introductions and hellos, I will take a quick look around the house to see where the best light is. I try my best to work with the light but if there is an area that is just perfect and that you love then I do have some lighting that I bring to make it work!
From there we would kinda do what we would normally do, just hang out and capture your family. We can play games, read a book, relax on the couch or bed. We can snuggle or pillow fight. We can capture the soft and tender feeling of family or the playful side. In-home sessions have a world of possibilities. We can plan it all together.
No matter the type of session chosen in-home sessions are, in my opinion, the perfect setting for a family focused session because what place is better than your family home to capture your unique dynamic and bond with each other? This is the place that you have created to share and grow with your family and I believe that, that place, is the perfect location for your next photography session.
