The truth about Digitals | Buckley, WA Family Photographer

The truth about digitals

Right now we are living in a digital age. Digital images are extremely accessible to us. They are on our phones. We carry an album of images from our lives with us every where we go. But how often do you look at them? When was the last time that you printed off photos that you took or received from a photo session?

Digitals are the most asked for product from photography. Digitals on an online gallery, digitals on a cd or digitals on a usb. They are delivered in many forms. How many great images do you have collected across your many devices and apps? How often do they get seen? How often are they printed and displayed?

The truth is not that often. But know that it is normal because it can be overwhelming. And if we are being honest here I am guilty of this too so you are not alone.

There are so many things to think about when printing images.

  • Where should I go to print? Walmart? Target? Shutterfly? I have actually done a print test that compared these, and more, print labs. See that post here.

  • What size should I print? 8x10 should be ok right? That’s a pretty big size. Well not for every situation.

  • How do I hang my prints and make them look like so nice like the pictures I have saved on Pinterest? Don't stress this let the experts get it done in no time.

That is not even where the questions end. There are other choices too. Do you want your prints matted and framed, canvas or metal prints? And what does all that mean?

If you find yourself asking these questions then you need a photographer that provides printing, photo products and wall gallery design. It will cost more than a “just the digitals” package but in the end those digitals end up left in a usb in your desk drawer and that’s not what either you or your photographer want.

Let me help you

Part of my process as a photographer and Wall Gallery designer is that I walk you through the perfect products that work for your home because at the end of the day we want to display and show off these amazing moments that we have captured! Am I right? I take care of where to print, what size and even install your gallery for you. I am a photographer but I am really here to provide you a service and walk you through the whole process so you don’t have to make all the hard decisions on your own because you don’t have the time to spend thinking about all those options!

Digitals definitely have their place but they are not the only product that you should be looking for because at their purest form they are just data. Not until we print them and display them do they become photographs. Photographs that we can hold, enjoy and pass down in our family.
