How to know when you are ready to have a branding session for your small business | Tacoma Branding Photographer

Ready to take your Tacoma area Small Business to the next level?

Many Small Business owners like you, in the Tacoma area, have a similar origin story. You had a passion for something and wanted to start making money doing it. Or maybe you had a passion for something and other people around you loved what you were doing and thought you should start selling what you do!

So you started your business and you have been taking some sales but you have been wanting to level up your brand and take your business farther! Having a Branding Photo Shoot will elevate your business. Working with a professional to see you and your business and best represent that for you so that your clients can better know Who you are, What you do and Why you do it! That is the secret sauce for elevating your brand and growing your business.

Let’s breakdown a 3 things that you should have in place before you decide to have a Business Branding Photo Shoot.

  1. A clear vision of your business brand - and we aren’t talking a logo and color palette.

  2. Be working on or have a live website and social media.

  3. A plan for how you are going to use your branding photos.

Keep reading to see the full breakdown of each point.

Knowing your Brand

Knowing your brand is key to having a successful business and a successful branding session. When you know your brand you will know what your needs are for photography. You will know what your vibe is. What clothing you should wear, what location to choose and which photographer can give you what you need to represent your business.

Failing to know your brand will likely leave you with images that don’t represent your brand, or help tell your story and what you do for your customers. You may also be left needing to spend money on another session down the road.

Have an online presence

What are branding photos with no place to display them! While having a Facebook business profile or instagram can help you market yourself on social it’s not going to take you as far as having a website. Having a website with professional branding photos will set you apart and help you find your ideal clients, which will in turn grow your business.

Instagram and Facebook are great places to share images from your session but that can’t be the only plan you have to use those images.

Have a plan for your images

As I said before you need a plan. What are you going to use these images for? Knowing your brand and having a plan on where your images will be displayed will help you be very clear on how your session will go.

When you book your photographer you will be given a questionnaire and often be scheduled for a planning call. These are important for your photographer to get to know you and your business and what you need from them to help tell your story and represent you. Having an idea on where you will need images for your website, social media, printed marketing materials or business cards will help photographer know how they need to shoot to give you the best photos for each purpose.

Having a plan also makes it easy and simple for you to use your images exactly how you want. No confusion.
