Family Photography to me is the most important photography there is.

Today I wanted to share with you 3 of the reasons that I love to photograph families.

Providing something meaningful

Photographs that I hold most dear are those that have meaning. There is a reason why when asked “if your home was on fire what would you grab first” that photographs is one of the number 1 answers.

I love being able to provide more than just a photo that is nice but one that makes you stop and feel that moment in time. The love, laughter or connection. All those feels deserve to be felt in our images. That is what makes them special.

Connecting with families

Many of the families that I photograph, I get to see multiple times. This really becomes more than work. It becomes a building of a relationship with my families. I love being able to connect with others and really get to know them.

It not only feels good to have a little community but it helps me be able to provide you with more heartfelt images when we are comfortable and connected with each other. I love that.

Capturing a very special kind of love

The love that we have for our family, the family that we created, is so special. It is beautiful and complicated. It is so strong and so deep. I love to capture the unique dynamic and bond of each of my families. To show them how perfect their imperfect life is.

There is nothing else like it, this shared love and bond we have with our family. None quite the same but all very powerful. Something worth documenting for generations to come.
