How to Look and Feel Good in Your Maternity Photos

Get Your Make-up and Hair Professionally Done

Hiring a professional to come in and do your hair and make-up the day of your maternity shoot is probably the easiest way to make you look good in your maternity photos. This is one less thing you have to worry about on the day of the shoot and can really make the day feel extra special. They can help accentuate your best traits and will help you feel more put together maybe than you have felt throughout your pregnancy! It may seem a bit OTT but who doesn’t like a little bit of luxury every now and then?

If you are in the Seattle area I highly recommend Katy Marie Artistry to take care of you before your Maternity photos!

Plan on adding Accessories

Accessories are an easy way to make your outfit feel more…you. Maybe you have some sentimental family jewelry that you love, wear it! Wear a gorgeous flower crown or accentuate your bump with a belt. Whatever it is, make sure it feels like you and you can’t go wrong!

Choose an Outfit that is Comfortable and Fits Properly

Being comfortable during your shoot is key to feeling good during your maternity photoshoot! If you aren’t comfortable, it will show. It’s also important to wear clothes that fit you properly! Baggy clothing that is too big for you can make you look bigger but also hides your bump when it should be front and center of your photos. Clothing that is too tight can be uncomfortable and you’ll feel like you’re constantly having to adjust. Choose an outfit that feels like it’s your personal style and that you are comfortable in. And also one that accentuates your sweet baby bump!

Book Yourself a Pamper Sesh

My last tip is to book yourself in for a pamper session right before your shoot day. Get a mani pedi and maybe a massage. Take the opportunity to relax and recharge your batteries. This will give you the ultimate glow up vibes and make you feel like the goddess that you really are!

For your maternity photos we want you feeling and looking your best. You’re creating a life inside of you and that is a beautiful and hard thing that needs to be celebrated! So, to look good in your maternity photos, I recommend you hire a professional to do your hair and make-up the day of the shoot, decide on accessories that make you feel more like yourself, choose an outfit that is comfortable but also fits well and makes you feel beautiful, and book yourself in for a pamper session a day or two before your shoot!
